Geophysical Fluid Dynamics
The Geophysical Fluid Dynamics group applies state of the art numerical methods to study convection in the interiors of Earth and other terrestrial planets and moons.
Convective motions in a planet's solid lithosphere-mantle system are the key dynamical processes that determine its evolution over geological time and are linked to a range of surface observables from fields such as seismology, geology, geomagnetism, geochemistry, and geodesy.
