Sebastian Noe
Student / Programme Doctorate at D-EAPS
Sebastian is a doctoral student in the Seismology and Wave Physics Group at ETH Zurich.
At Ludwig- Maximilian University in Munich, he obtained his Bachelor's degree in Earth Sciences in 2018 and his Master's degree in Geophysics in 2020. Under the supervision of Prof. Heiner Igel, he wrote his thesis about rotational motions in anisotropic media. In April 2021, Sebastian started his doctorate at ETH Zurich.
Sebastian is currently working with Andreas Fichtner on the development of the Collaborative Seismic Earth Model (CSEM). His research revolves around the formulation of a workflow to accurately incorporate new data into the multiscale model. Furthermore, Sebastian is involved in SPIN, an innovative training network, for which he works on a project that transfers knowledge from classical seismic sensors about full-waveform inversion to distributed acoustic sensing.
